What is the tabla?
The tabla, or darbuka, is a drum
2025 Winter/Spring Tabla Session
Two locations to choose from:
CHAMBLEE
- 15 Sessions, 15 hours of instruction
- Tuesdays, January 21 – May 27:
- January 21, 28
- February 4, 11, 18, 25
- March – OFF
- April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
- May 6, 13, 20, 27
ALPHARETTA
- 15 Sessions, 15 hours of instruction
- Wednesdays, January 22 – May 28:
- January 22, 29
- February 5, 12, 19, 26
- March – OFF
- April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
- May 7, 14, 21, 28
COST:
- 15 sessions / 15 hours of instruction
- $385 for members / $405 for non-members; pro-rated if you join after the first class. (For pro-rated payments, please contact us at info@alifnstitute.org.)
- Installments: 3 automatic payments of $140.
- Tabla rental: $55/session plus a refundable $100 security deposit.
- Rental cost covers the entire session (January – May).
- Tabla should be returned on the last day of class.
- There are a limited number of tablas for rent. Please check with us for tabla rental availability. We also happy to suggest how to buy your own tabla.

- PLEASE NOTE:
- There are no refunds after the first class of the session.
- There are no make-ups for missed classes.
